beat the game as the noise then at the platform just before the present that launches you into the boss jump off the platform to the left then you wil land in peppino's house exit the house and a screen will appear that says swap mode unlocked so connect a spare controller/wired keyboard go back to the main menu and press down until you see an icon in the bottom left with peppino and the noises face then click on it then press z on the external keyboard/controller and on the main keyboard and go to options then configure controls for two players then start the game instructions for co-op are in the tower entrance
